As a mom one of my biggest struggles, that is, aside from the whole "raising tiny humans who are expected to grow up into productive members of society and decent contributors to humanity" part of the gig, is achieving the elusive 'chic mom look.' You know the one, you've seen it at the mall, the playground, and maybe even Starbucks. Let's be real for a second; most days I'd rather a pair of stretchy yoga pants and a racer back tank with a wise-ass phrase across the front then face the dreaded process of dolling myself up with a four year old and a one year old.
Yes, I know, I can wake up earlier than my kids to get ready; but then I get less sleep and well, it's just better for humanity if that's not the case. Just trust me on that one.
Anyway, once in a while the 'homeless yoga instructor' look (as Ms. Laditan puts it), doesn't cut it and I have to go the extra mile. And to be fair, as much as I have to pull some creative maneuvering to go from 'mystery-fluid-on-my-shirt' to tres chic, the way I'm dressed does affect my mood for the day. There's just something about tackling the day in clothes that make you feel good, am I right, ladies?
That being said, I have found quite a gem in these two sister stores in Fresno; Ooh La La and LOLA. From my birthday weekend in Vegas, to a documentary screening in LA last week, to a creative lunch meeting today; they've turned me into an "OohLaLa Girl."
These are my current favorite looks so far:
 |
| This bodysuit and shorts combo from Ooh La La was the perfect solution | to the Vegas heat |
